FIRST SNOW

FIRST SNOW

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

The delicate beauty of the season's first snow!

"

FIRST SNOW

Cold wind's are blowing
Through this town tonight.
Leaves are quite frozen
And oh what  a sight!

Leftover colors
From fall that I see,
Glistening with snowdrops
From sweet maple trees.

Creatures that scurry
In haste to find lunch,
Chasing their tails on the
Ground that goes crunch.

Wet tiny miracles
Float through the air...
And I don't care if they
Muss up my hair.

I Iove the snow
Every time it starts falling.
Snowshoes and winter...yes,
I hear them calling!
****

Thank you my sweetie! You are loved. ~Sharon
Congratulations ! What a nice capture of an unbeaten theme and worthy too. Ah Yes The first snow.. The first snow is filled with ideas and feelings that we don't think to write about.
Wish I thought about it myself :-)

Thank you my fellow wordsmith for your lovely review of this write! ~Sharon
what an enchanting innocence in this poem ..would read it to my grandchildren .. i lived in SD many years and there is something special about that first snow ...but the winds of the prairie drove me south and i have to tell you i don't miss it ;) i appreciate the mention of snowshoes because it is my belief that one will never really enjoy snowy winters without some kind of out door activity that they enjoy .. nice rhyme and rhythm :)
