would you take forty for the pair?

would you take forty for the pair?

A Poem by Anna Auel

Coin-op kings
professional repairmen of
early machines
stored
in a listing barn
propped up by wooden tool boxes wedged
in its armpits

they light up and flash, kewpie doll and football fake-fornicating
with naughty peep shows
of decades ago,  ladies in bathing
suits playing strip poker...

ENTICING! SALACIOUS! SENSATIONAL!
A shoulder!   an ankle!       a clavicle!

Memory sold to the highest bidder,
to be stored in a more expensive barn.
