Underworld Love

Underworld Love

A Poem by James Helm

As the razor pierces my skin
I close my eyes and see your face
And your tears sparkle as they flow
Like the blood gushing from my veins

The underworld cannot keep us apart
our love's an inferno, brighter than Hades fire
So, with this razor I still my heart
To embrace you, forever satisfying desire

With my last breath, I whispered your name
With my last thought, I remembered our first kiss
With my last hope, I wished to hold you and never let go
As they take me to my pyre, I draw closer to that bliss

The underworld cannot keep us apart
our love's an inferno, brighter than Hades fire
So, with this razor I still my heart
To embrace you, forever satisfying desire

I love this. It's so sad yet sweet at the same time...I'm sure many people can relate to it.
