Megan

Megan

A Poem by P.M. Tymes
"

My attempt to describe the sensation of love in regard to a girl who possesses my heart.

"

Just when I thought I had seen every way to smile, every way to laugh, and every way to cry

A girl came into my life and changed my definition of the word beautiful.

You see… I imagine thousands of guys call their girl beautiful daily

And you are definitely not something that thousands of other girls are.

So someday I will come up with a new word to use that sums up the feeling I get when I see you

A word that does you justice

But ‘til then, I guess I’ll just use your name.

So every now and then, when I’m alone and it’s safe, I let it slip off my tongue…

Megan.

This is a beautifully romantic poem that expresses so much more than flattery and cajolery. It expresses so well the beauty of honesty in such a conversational way that it makes the poem even more beautiful. I love the image of the second-to-last line where the name slips off the tongue... brilliant! Excellent poem! Thank you for writing it and sharing it with us!

When the utterance of a name expresses emotion more than any term of endearment, the feelings woven within it are truly precious indeed. Well expressed ink!

Thanks for sharing.
