Through The Looking Glass Of A Broken And Fixed Heart

Through The Looking Glass Of A Broken And Fixed Heart

A Poem by Tilian Darko

Looking through the glass I see two people.
As my heart sinks lower and lower, so do I.
My whole being weak and fragile and my heart broken and unresponsive.
This poor heart unable to beat at the speed of light.
Unable to beat at the beat It used to beat over and over.
Watching through the glass seeing two hearts connected.
As my heart bleeds peeled away from the bond it used to have with one of those other hearts on the other side.
It pounds the glass still bleeding, wanting them to connect again. Wanting the pain to instead be love once again.
Wanting their love to mean something once again.
While my eyes and heart see them through the glass I break even more.
In ten days moving from one heart to the next like It meant nothing. Feeling like I was a stepping stone, a stepping stone that led you to the next without a sorry.
Gone without any leftover love. that love died and their heart moved onto the next in a single heartbeat.
Now my heartbeat is left irregular and broken.
You were left fixed while my heart stopped beating, so does the whole being it possesses.
Vacant from the world just like the love It was left with.
