Pink and Blue Umbrella

Pink and Blue Umbrella

A Poem by Myth
"

"pensive"

"
My pink and blue Umbrella
shelters me from the rain
do you see it?
How they come to me
to find you
they know where to find you
when the pain comes
and they breathe your name upon my tongue
and they touch my heart with hopes
of finding you there
mirror, better half
soulmates without a cause
dont they see the glass is cracked
and tread so carefully beneath my toes?
he dared define me,
lover sister friend
but we don't pick our friends
they pick us
i am your open door
revolving through me, they see you
adoring as I do
being who you need them to be
props, blue and purple dawn
pink rosebuds in bloom
reader of minds
they lay their shining petals
at your feet with mine
souls swinging wide
starry eyed and blushing
bleary eyed and humble
you'll send us cumming to our knees
deny deny deny
the cat said to the Canary
what they can't have
is always what they'll want
do you know what I want
the body of love
inside it
like a skin
like an umbrella
love chooses who to shelter
not all are so lucky
the hourglass is full
love turns a page
I cycle the headlines
looking for heros
hoping to find him there;
A baby is still starving in Somalia
mad men still want to blow up the world
I remember feeling so small
We've all been so hungry for heros,
for someone to save us...;
no one seems to want to be that guy anymore
maybe it's the tights
maybe it's the responsibility
that feels like tights
commitment, loyalty
it's a good thing we get to pick our heros
who to root for...
I bend and snap the leash to the dog's collar,
murmer to her in endearments
I open my pink and blue umbrella...
together we greet the rain.

Wow very powerful. I love your words they open my mind and I get so many different thoughts by reading them. This is very true. Heroes are few and far between. People do not want the responsibility. We idolize so many people that do far less than great things. It is sad I think. Anyway I enjoyed reading this. The flow was perfect and the imagery of the pink and blue umbrella in the rain was wonderful. Painted a great picture.

this is all encompassing of every emotion. 'pensive' as you said,
but more than that. you thinking/feeling/letting loose within
your wandering of emotion. laying feeling onto paper, maybe
in search of ? or touring this life? :)

As I read down your published writing in the current order, I'm taken back by your words and phrasing and wanted to stop here because this is my favorite so far ...as the artists style is read I just love the uniqueness of the word play and imagery. It seems like each word has a purpose and yet the flow of complex thoughts seem like they are written effortlessly...Everything so far is wonderful to read but it requires, now maybe I'm slow, several reads but you want to because there is so much emotional connection to the written thoughts... I love it because you make me think.

"I bend and snap the leash to the dog's collar,
murmer to her in endearments
I open my pink and blue umbrella...
together we greet the rain."

I love your attitude...

Incredibly perhaps - the sing 'Umbrella' was playing on the radio as I got to your poem. So fate conspired to channel your piece in my direction - and for this I am grateful as I find your images. openness, and light innocence combined with a strong sense of reality, a joy to read. Thank you -

Heroism is difficult to choose when the oppressed don't know they need saving, and they continually spit in your face for your troubles; cheering as you are beaten to a bloody pulp by their mortal enemies.
But I digress.
Brilliant piece of work, S!

This is one of the best poems I have read on here.......truly.......together we greet the rain. This is how it should be.

. seems like these words were written in one breath ... they express themselves with such power ... the imagery and narration are poignant beyond measure and infinitely poetic ... some days ago, someone quoted some wise person to me and said ... "pain is a given but suffering is a choice" ... but i had to suffer a lot to actually internalize those words ... this is an important phase of the journey to a better phase ... you express it beautifully ... it's good to be here and read these words ... they precede a true liberation ... it can felt ... light can't be too far away ... IMHO ...
