Flaws

Flaws

A Chapter by Kathryn Smith

When all of your flaws and all of my flaws are laid out one by one

Wonderful part of the mess that we made we pick ourselves undone

Threre's a hole in my soul

I cant fill it

There's a hole in my soul

can you fill it?

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve

and I have always buried them deep beneath the ground

dig them up lets finish what we started

dig them up so nothings left un turned.

The car crash damaged my right eye.

If you look really closely my eye looks like a cats eye, and because I have a fake eye lens it can look really strange when the light hits it at certain angles.

I have struggled with that flaw for a long time. It has taken me awhile to feel remotely pretty again. I cant take pictures anymore without being careful.

I also cant look people in the eyes for a long time without feeling paranoid they'll notice...and when I catch someone staring at me I automatically assume they are staring at my eye.

This song taught me to embrace it all.

Everyone has flaws. We need them to see who we are and without them we'd be doomed.
