Revival

Revival

A Story by Kathryn Smith

And just like that

The storm seized

The snow gone

Trees budding

Flowers blooming

World green

Sky blue again

Flawless

Bugs out

Sun Burst

I stood outside

The smell of the rain took me away

Away

From a biter mind

Angry soul.

It put my heart

In revival

I saw you working

Our eyes met

And the spark

Burst

Just like the sun

I made you blush

You laughed looking at your feet

If you only knew

How much I needed you

How that smile of yours

Carried me through

Hi
The terse structure of this poem served this piece well. It carried a certain urgency and rhythm. It has a solid combination of free verse with metaphor. Starting in the middle so to speak worked as well.

"From a biter mind." How about "From a bitter mind" unless this is about vampires?
