That Moment

That Moment

A Story by Kathryn Smith

There is a light in the sky

Open up your weary eyes

Follow the voices

Hear the sound

Find your truth

You're homeward bound

You know those moments when you meet eyes with someone and the world stops?

It happened on a balmy August evening.

The sun made the shadows soft.

He stood there at the entrance with Fergal.

And as I walked past, we met eyes.

My world stopped.

We had met eyes the summer before.

We had met eyes the spring before.

And the look in his eyes was warm.

In my darkest moments..

In my foggy thoughts..

The music pulled me through.

His voice reminded me who I was.

What I stood for.

What love is.

What love is not.

And in those eyes of his...

He held me wistfully but confidently.

And I fell into his net of safety.

Into my Haven.

**Special thanks to We Banjo 3. You were my Haven from the start.
