Visions

Visions

A Poem by Kathryn Smith

I had a vision of you and I

The white window was cracked open

4 walls delicate yellow

Morning dew outside

Birds signing

Breeze whispering

Against our skin

Night fading

My fingertips graze your cheek

White sheets cover us

Eye to eye

You put your lips close to mine

But they do not touch

Our hearts broken

But souls joyous

So joyous there are tears

In my heart

And in your

Soul

This love

Forbidden

This attraction

Dangerous

Our kindred fire

Reckless

But you pull me close

In silence

And I nestle in

Soaking you

No one has to know

That we love

In secrecy

and in

quiet visions
