You

You

A Story by Kathryn Smith

It has been months
And I cannot shake you away
Your presence lifts my spirit
I can feel your gaze on me
And
I want to fly
Run to you
I want to walk with you
Sit by the water and speak
Of our sins
Our dreams
Our hopes
Our failures
Our triumphs and heartaches
I want to be your friend
Kiss your cheek
I want to be that girl
Who can move your very soul
Tremble the soil you walk on
I want to touch your heart
Reach your walls
And rip them down
I want to acknowledge our tension
That hits us
Like a ton of bricks
Perhaps God wanted you
To find me
Or perhaps God wanted me
To love you
