Break Through

Break Through

A Story by Kathryn Smith

All day I waited

Sitting in the new spring sun

Warmed

Under blue cloudless sky

My favorite kind

I tried to heal my sickness

But it never wavered

Tonight was the night I was dreaming of

I'd walk in the doors in a beautiful dress

And I was hoping your eyes

Would eat me alive

In secret

And to my contentment

You saw me tonight

And you looked like

You might  cry

You had love in your eyes

And your hand took mine

Holding it a little longer than usual

With quiet glances

Hopeless romance

Was born

Our eyes hold a secret

Yours sparkle for a second

And then you return to your job

of Loving God

I want to run to you

 Be buried in you

I want to touch you

For our Love

Has finally

Broken through

How did I look in the dark?

Did you see my face through the flame?

I saw yours

and I was happy
