Gone

Gone

A Poem by AiH

The playground was wet

Droplets of early morning dew clung to the surface

Like your lips on my neck

Clouds floated above the woodchips

Hovering over the ground

Teasing it

You were singing softly

An old song we used to love

I still do

I didn’t notice then

How the fog swallowed life

I didn’t know

But before I could blink away the tears

Having them roll down the valley of my cheeks

You were already gone
