her

also read Kathryn's comment ..how incredible we are so able to see something unique and different in the same poetry ..i also am Catholic and related to the forgive me at dawn ..forgive me at bed and ..please keep me in my sleep ... we are never "OK" in and of ourselves ... and so the need is always present ... i imagine she is probably like Mother Theresa in such a fervent prayer life :) love the story..and the minimalist form .. says volumes and volumes more to read in between those lines ..each our own story ..well done says i!

I'm catholic! There are parts of it that I 100 percent do not agree with. I think at the end of the day if you are a good person and have good morals you're good to go.

Ah but dearest Kathryn, so many carry the yolk of original sin as Jesus carried the tree. Thank you .. read more
Born and raised ( and smacked by every nun that tried to teach me) Catholic. The Catholic church dumped me years ago. Basically a failure for "us" to agree. Releasing the guilt and embracing a loving God.

Having been raised Catholic, I had to read when I saw this in my requests. A great representation of what it was/is like to be Catholic. The guilt is ritualized! Thanks for sharing John.

Yes its a culture more than religion
Forgiveness is something everyone no matter what belief or faith you choose to follow should be given, if God is as merciful as people portray then forgiveness should be willingly given

Humm, I don't consider myself a very religious person, but this reminds me of my mom. Both of my parents and all of my siblings are Catholic, so I guess you could say I'm the odd sheep out.
A very nice poem.
