Lovers Sunset

Lovers Sunset

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Lovers Sunset

Between the green dressed earth,

the sea and the sky,

is a place where my dreams were born.

When the day is done

and your toil of soil is ended,

you take a breath,

pick up your quill

and let it’s gentle sighs

spread like light across the pages,

in ethereal words that float

in warm enchantments.

They spill in sparkling stars

and the laughter of angels

bathed in moonbeam rays

and fall into my eyes.

That place,

between the earth the sea and the sky,

is where we met.

Where I saw your naked soul,

where my captivation for your sweet heart

was complete;

where my desire for you grew insatiate.

So now I long to leave the sky behind,

were poets play their timeless games of words.

And I yearn to kiss your lips in tender love

and adoration,

and walk hand in hand with you forever

upon the beaches of this earth.

Many thanks. Perhaps you will soon.
You always seem to enchant me with your poetry. The imagery is simply stunning, John. The softness of the romance is captivating. To see someone's "naked soul" is to know you are meant to be with him/her. So very lovely. Truly worthy of many heavy sighs! Never stop writing, my friend. Lydi**

Thank you Lydi, just wish it could be reciprocated!
Tell me honestly, have you ever considered publishing your poetry yourself? John, you really should...I mean everything you write is just as brilliant and beautiful and captivating as the one before. Your articulation and consistency is simply off the charts, and I truly do admire you!

Your muse is deserving of recognition too...my regards!

I believe we should look into having you bronzed! ; )

The vivid imagery of the green earth, the endless blue sky,the vast ocean is striking.. the meeting of you and your soulmate in between this is awesome... the way you've set aside all the most beautiful inspirations of a poet. And holding unto your best muse is beautiful.. "i saw your naked soul" it very well portrays how she opened herself up infront of you.. an excellent Lover's sunset..keep writing amigo.. ;)
