Blind

When you give unreservidly.

Blind

I would but have offered

every cell and centimetre

of me to your love and

your satisfaction.

No one has ever fired

my soul and my imagination

so.

Yet you held me

at arms-length

for almost two years.

I should have seen

the lack of commitment

veiled in promises

you never meant,

never could keep,

but in the warm

ray of hope

of forever I was  blinded

and now my tears are forever.

Quite possibly. The reason your poem made me think of the song was I saw James Taylor live at the Royal Albert Hall last evening and he was as good as ever if not better. He has 'bluesed up' a little. He did the same as he always does and gave lots of time to meeting fans and giving them autograph. I got his autograph when I saw him live years ago.
