Born to Die

Born to Die

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

A true tale

"

Born to Die

Addiction reflected in a haunting voice,

drinking alone in the drowning pool

of the wilderness years.

A young girl lost and friendless

and in love with the excitement

of her dark side.

A place where alcohol defined

each waking breath,

each empty, lonely

beat of her heart.

Wow, a very good portrayal of Lana's life. I like how you used the title of her song to bring about her tale. Well done! :D

John, this is hauntingly breathtaking. You really captured Lana's outer persona in such profound depth. Thank you so much for joining the contest!

So so sad Jacob. This is the true story of Lana Del Rey (Lizzie Grant). Many thanks.
I imagined the life of Amy Winehouse here (after she became famous) John with the darkness that was inescapable.
"...drinking alone in the drowning pool..." - affecting words.
You're back, aren't you?

super piece of writing my friend.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
