Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

There is a rare butterfly in Darzet.

"

Butterfly

You have such sensitive skin.

Delicate, frail velum

covering a weakened heart.

You live within it like a cocoon,

a place of refuge

tightly wrapped,

where you moisturise three times a day

to prevent any drying out

or cracking.

You dare not show your naked

breasts to the world

or liberate your soul

and your most sensual desires,

for to do so

would expose you

as a rare breed,

too fragile to handle.
