The Morning AfterA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenLife goes on in its magnificence despite us.The
Morning After We were sweeping up the afters of the previous nights quarrel. Picking over the who said what to whom, getting the convoluted memories convulsed and pulped and regurgitated. Reforming the truth to defend our stand and twisting words into origami models that were more artistic and formed than our original dispute. Suddenly the sparrowhawk swooped, homing in on the tits and finches on the garden feeder. A predator, swift, stealthy and sure, but they saw it all too soon and burst into the air in every direction, thus confusing this magnificent bird of prey and denying it a certain kill. 26/09/17 © 2017 John Alexander McFadyenReviews
