StoryA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenWhy, oh why are we so destructive?Story I will tell you a story; a bleak tale but I will tell it none-the-less. It speaks of honour and of valour lost, as mankind rages war upon this planet Earth, as if it has no worth. Humans once respected the nature that they found, which fed them, clothed them and kept them safe and warm. But many soon grew greedy for the treasures buried deep within her womb. From then the rape and pillage started, and as their wealth it grew, it seemed to have no bounds. They scooped and chopped and dug and drilled, and marvelled at their skills, as factories belched black carbon in the air. And as the ice caps melted they stripping bare their mother's corpse, leaving it discarded, denuded and consumed. Hollowed eyes exposed, now a barren w***e, used, abused and abandoned to her fate, as a worthless piece of trash, simply lost in space. And now they wonder why she has forsaken them. Why she rages floods, and fires and hurricanes and quakes upon their lands.
Is it too late? Do we still have time to save her, to save us all? 14/10/17 © 2017 John Alexander McFadyenReviews
