Romance Redacted

Romance Redacted

You played me for a fool,

through many seasons

changing hues,

through too many years

hoping and

waiting for you.

If I kicked back

you slaked my suspicions,

my hurt,

with the intoxicating wine

of guilt.

Thus I hung

among the stars,

head bowed in supplication,

feeling

I had let you down.

But reality dawns

when the sun fails to rise

for so long

and only cold,

fleeting shadows

full of smoke

greet your kisses.

But now I know

that when 'love' hides

its face

in the pages

of the internet,

tis foolish to trust

such blatant insincerity.

No trust or loyalty here,
so the love isn't felt or it never
shows in the ways of true form.

Ah, internet love is not real in any way, shape, or form, is it? The rhyming in this is great, John...and the emotions come through loud and clear. Lydi**

Indeed tis true although some find romance in its murky depths. Many thanks Lydi.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
