Sharper Edge

Sharper Edge

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Words hurt.

"

Cut me to the quick

with a tongue like a bull-whip,

your lashes draw blood.

Indeed it has a sharp edge upon which frail flesh might tear. Thanks Tom.
Words can be so powerful, and a tongue lashing can last for ever. Some words you'll never forget, and neither will they heal. These lines certainly convey much emotional hurt. I felt the cut here, deeply.
