Any Port In A Storm

Any Port In A Storm

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We writers have many dimensions.

"

I take refuge in this ink.

I go to worship with

the point of my nib

poised like a dirk,

as I seek solace

from the slings and arrows

of existence.

I force myself into the

barrel of my pen

until I haemorrhage upon

virgin paper.

My bloodied thoughts

spilled upon the page.

I hide within

the world of words,

a make believe place

where I can convince myself

I am simply normal,

artistic and quirky maybe,

but a normal human being.

Yet in my heart

I know that my soul

is in tatters

as I try to piece together

the language of my anger and hurt,

with my Biro.

our writing is definitely our sanctuary---our safe place---and yes, we are a quirky lot.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
