Days Gone By

Days Gone By

A Poem by Dara
"

Dedicated to my loving father who passed away but is still with me in spirit.

"

I have visions running through my head

of days gone by with words unsaid.

When babies snuggled against my breast

and put my weary soul at rest.

A hand to hold, a cheek to kiss

a gentle touch, a state of bliss.

Sweet memories of a father’s love,

his ethereal embrace from above.

With my heart in my hands

I wait wish and ponder

what life has in store for me yet,

I wonder?

This, although worded quite differently, reminded me of my own poem, Words. The human experience is filled with so many things that we each relate to collectively. It is a beautiful thing to find one's own thoughts and feelings revealed in the writings of another. Very much enjoyed.

Such a beautiful tribute to your precious past, your day by day Now.. and what's to come, Dara.

Tis said we are part of every place ever visited, every person ever loved, every word shared - AND what was ties its mind and heart to time eternal. Your words echo that (poorly recalled) quote that
needs remembering in the process of adapting to whatever. Wise words, beautifully put.

My mother once told me I was Daddy's girl, and even though I lost him when I was only six, I'd like to think I always will be!

Great - you are writing about the big and important things in life. The wonder of children, the pain of departed parents, thoughts of the future, all big parts of our lives.
Well done,
