Lullaby for Idris

Lullaby for Idris

A Poem by Dara

The moon casts a golden shadow

and the wind whispers soft and low.

The stars shine like celestial diamonds

putting on a brilliant night light show.

Mama sings a lullaby

cradling you in her arms.

The blanket she lays over you

will keep you snug and warm.

You finally drift off to sleep

dreaming of castles in the sand

and fairies who will welcome you

to a night time Neverland.

Author's Note

For my sweet grandson, Idris who is about to turn 9 months old. The painting is by Kristina Laurendi Havens.
