Windmills of our Heart

Windmills of our Heart

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Wooden shoes dance to tulips kiss

"
On the fourteenth of April
tulips sway to a lady of fashion
whose beauty can only be imagined...

Her warmth and passion give way
to dreams of faraway places
across oceans and waves of serenity...

The month of April gives new birth
to flowers and birds on wing whose song
wishes our romantic poet Lydia

A Happy Birthday on April fourteenth...

Love this perfect gift of a poem for a poet who has, over quite a few years, delighted me, challenged me, enlightened me, and, on an occasionally Friday Night, has left me breathless. Yeah, you can probably tell that I favor her writing. Happiest of Birthdays, Lydi** !

WOW! WOW! And WOW! A surprise for me and I'm sure your message must be a big delight to one of my favorite poets on this website. My 30-something nephew also has this birthdate. I love the way you weave the long-standing symbols of spring: wooden shoes, tulips, windmills, & birds on the wing. After two years of reading sensual Lydia, I've slowly emerged from my previous cocoon of hibernation & I'm very thankful to her for showing me how its done! *smile* Fondly, Margie

Thanks so much, Poppy!
How I wish we could all meet at a real Café, and celebrate our dear friend's birthday! Lydia and I go back many years, having met at another online poetry venue. The WC is home for many of us, and there's no better place I would rather be.

So, let's light the candles - all 29 of them...right, Lydi! May it be a spectacular year, my friend!

Love & best wishes,
Kelly
