Bare Bone Boy
A Poem by Patrick Paul

Bare bone boy why are you legs and arms needle thin?

How does that thin little frame hold up a bowling ball of a tummy?

Like a large fish bowl, with no fish food, just a mal nutrioned solute.

A heart size tadpole sinking, not swimming, not living!

Bare bone boy why is it you do not play with any toys?

Toys are the joy and imagination of a young boy!

Is it because your imagination has grown stagnant?

Survival must stay rampant!

Bare bone boy why don't you cry?

Is it because, these damn flies keep pestering your eyes?

As i glare at the boy i begin to feel the pain.

The tadpole begins to float to the top.

Bare bone boy's heart has suddenly just "stopped"!
