rotA Poem by PatrickBairamianthere is nothing simpler...Wedding ring made of pewter granite shines as the stone house made of rotted pine kitchen smells of refrigerator fluid stale. Front yard filled with weeds in numbers that can put the hive of wasps to shame that linger on the- dying poplar leaning towards the roof; hardwood made soft wood by the leaking pipes below our feet banging after every hot shower in a tub whose cleanliness is augmented by the surrounding mold growing on the ceiling...rusted window no escape for the steam, like our puppy who must battle across the backyard's stinging nettles to reach salvation in his dog bowl; hole in the closet, I can watch you change even when trimmings of drywall skew your face as they hang like icicles in this concrete establishment we've chosen to elope to. Wake up next to me, our new neighbors the three blind mice allow a melody to play with their minuet feet, as the orchestra above scuttles across the tumbleweeds of dust bunnies... lay next to me, experiencing this together you hold my hand, I grasp your shoulder be mine forever. © 2012 PatrickBairamianReviews
