Mumbo - Jumbo voodoo chile

Born on  the bayou in the month of June

'Neath a blood-red moon

Mama didn't make it- midwife say,

She couldn't believe you didn't follow too

The Village took you in tho they were not

Very kind you were used and abused by the 

Age of nine you took in grace you took it

In stride Voodoo chiles  got a 

Very strong mind 

As your body blossomed so did your mind

You knew all the herbs knew what vines

So you brewed your tea brewed it fine

Deftly with sparks - voodoo chile

Sure learned how to shine

Turnin' on your charm with a blink of an eye

Said, let's all have a drink reminise  old times

Men so gullible so easy to persuade

Wouldn't be long now

You bout got it made

Bout an hour or so later they begin to gag

Skin turned green eyes bulged blue

Moanin' and groanin' they began to squirm

Lookin' at you they fell to the ground

Last one to fall - bout a quarter-past dead

You jumped to your feet began to chant-

Used me abused me for the very last time

On this day the victory be mine

I spit on you all you ain't nothin' to me

Jus' dirt and grime sickenin' swine

Dancin' round the fire in glitter and glee

Singin' your song of sweet victory-

I tole you once I tole you twice

Not one of you heeded took my advice

Lookin' at you now sure makes me smile

'Cause all along I done tole you once  

Tole you twice ya'll know better than 

Than messin with a voodoo chile like me -

Ya'll shoulda known better

You hit this one nicely, I like how it stayed in character all the way through. A Poem story from beginning to end with rhymes and accents you captured this character perfectly. This one is very good and fun to read. I know for sure that Jimi doesn't mind and that picture looks like Calypso from the pirates of Caribbean movies. Excellent write!

Haha from the title I thought this was about chile peppers which I love, but this was twice as spicy with just the right amount of bayou seasoning thrown in for good measure.

I just couldn't stop the rip,wail, and screem of guitar sounds in my mind as I read this.
This VooDoo chile, could have been raised in New Orleans, Haiti, or Africa, and the outcome would have been the same..
The ones that mess with a voodoo chile, done got what they deserved...she tells them right well...

Grrrrrrreat writing, even to the language, every line a nudge into the scene. Seems there's a twist of thought, could be about any life tragedy, revenge for past pain, past loss of identity.
