Mourning

A nursery of emotions
emerge
from infancy
when grief and loss
converge
to wade in pools of misery.

Some say there dwells a spirit guide
within,
a caring voice
that speaks great truth,
“Begin---
Each step we take’s a conscious choice.”

Not far from darkest night’s own view
lies morn;
while life moves on,
a heavy heart’s
reborn.
Life’s darkest right before the dawn.
