My Precious Rose

single rose Pictures, Images and Photos

Need I but say, you bring the sun
To dreary days where there is none
And leave pure joy to chase the rain
In precious ways I can't explain
For love is ours and here to stay,
Need I but say.

In whispered words of  "I love you,"
My heart rejoices that it's true.
You warm my heart and fill my dreams.
Forever's not too long, it seems;
You are my rose in life's bouquet,
Need I but say.

Need I but say that this is a lovely homage and tribute to the one you love.

My only critique:

"Need I but say, you bring the sun
To dreary days where there was none ..."

The transition from present to past reads awkwardly ... bring the sun where there was none ... perhaps should be ring the sun where there is none or when there is none. Since the rest of the poem is in present tense, I think this change would make it perfect, need I say.

Other than that, beautiful!
