One Starry Night

One Starry Night

A starry sky, a shining moon,
A quiet walk, two hand-in-hand,
The perfect night to hum a tune
As beating hearts play 'Love is Grand.'

A quiet walk, two hand-in-hand,
All time stands still to speak of love
Upon a shoreline's gentle sand;
The only witness, stars above.

The perfect night to hum a tune
And feel the breeze caress bare skin
Before new dawn arrives too soon
And darkness flees to let light in.

As beating hearts play 'Love is Grand,'
Sweet pleasures sing their ecstasy.
Two bodies melt into the sand,
And inhibitions quickly flee.

I always, always, always appreciate it when one takes the time to care about the form of a poem as well as its content. You have succeeded beautifully with your rhyme and meter. Not only that, "One Starry Night" is a starry example of how beautiful a poem can be if one cares enough to caress it into being.

Great job! Keep shining!

So refreshing, a beautiful starry night, just lovely. Great work Sharon.
Also id like to mention that to me this was like a poem about a wonderful night where two lovers take a romantic stroll through a park at midnight. On a Starry Night. Beautiful!

You are one of my favorite poets! Your words never stumble; they glide across the page. Your rhymes are never contrived.

A well constructed and rhymed poem which carries also the beaty of tenderly expressed emotion unspoiled by rigid formula. Splendid.
