Unopened Eyes

Unopened Eyes

A Poem by Sharon Miller Bolander

Unopened Eyes

waves. Pictures, Images and Photos

Come, walk the waves of innocence that haunt the meekest souls;
come, see the world through virgin eyes that cannot fathom holes.

Each tragedy reality may cast upon the scene
may fade into oblivion before the truth is seen.
Abyss absorbs the memory of hopes once wished to be
and leaves the corpse of happiness to drown within gloom’s sea.

Yet, though the multitudes may sink in graves of discontent,
those left who dream of promises still learn from lessons lent.

I lost a very good friend a few weeks ago. We had a service on the beach with the waves crashing. Brought back some sad and happy memories. Well done.

This
is
amazing
is all I can say. It stands out so much from the average poetry you see on this site. Also, it was written on my 18th birthday. Ha.
