Lyrics

When young, I'd play a favorite song.

The music would send me flying.

And sometimes I would sing along

but with the lyrics I was not trying.  

Merely words thrown in, just because

the real magic in the music was

And I know these words are not for me

So what within them do I have to see?

As an older lad, though, I was shocked

when some lyrics went all the way

into my core, which was then rocked

by what someone else had to say.
