A Christmas

A Christmas

A Poem by Aileen

They where sound asleep in there bunks
Dreams of home filled their heads
Just then a soldier cried out
“Look to the sky! There something there!”
They jumped from there beds
Outside they went
They looked to the sky and saw something coming at them
It was not a missile
Nor a plain
It was a man in a slay
He landed with eight rain deer in front
“Marry Christmas!” he called
He took his bag and opened it wide
“Cpl. Grids” he called
He stepped forward and was given a gift
He called out names and each was given a gift
When he was done he got into his slay
“Thank you for that you do” he called as the rain deer lifted off
They went into the night
You could hear a faint cry
“Marry Christmas to all and a good night!”
His slay was soon out of sight.
