Coming Apart

Coming Apart

A Poem by Timeteller

Coming Apart

I'm coming apart, little pieces of me
There's a place deep inside where my heart used to be
I know there must be a way to make a new start
To get back in the race, the smile back on my face
'Cause I'm coming apart.

I lost the spring from my step, where it went I don't know
It disappeared while I slept
With my get-up-and- go
I was dreaming of you and all the things that we'd done
Its getting harder each day to find my own way
'Cause I'm coming undone

I'm not the man that I was when two halves made on whole
It'll take more than me to put a patch on my soul
I need the memory of you to let go of my heart
Give me peace while I sleep and eventually keep
Me from coming apart.

On my license it says 'take my parts when I die'
But when they open me up there will be nothing inside
Ah, the best part of me left with you
You wouldn't take it before, but now you're crossing that shore
You'll need it more than I do

'Cause I'm coming apart, little pieces of me
There's a place deep inside where my heart used to be
I know there must be a way to make a new start
To get back in the race, the smile back on my face
"Cause I'm coming apart
