My split feelings about America

How I love the land, how I love the people
North and South, East and West
I’ve read the literature, I’ve admired the art
I’ve listened to the music, I’ve watched the movies
I marvel at your history,
The Indians, wars, assassinations, slavery, speeches, space travel and sporting excellence
but best of all is surely the wild West 
Has life ever held a guarantee beyond a showdown?
I follow your politics, 
Candidates tussle to lead like JFK, FDR and the greats before them
Republicans, Democrats and opinions circulating everywhere 
A process as if pottery at work
But what strikes me most is your individuality, (Individual freedom and right to selfishness)
More personalities than I could ever count
A noble story down every street
If I can dream,
to travel and meet everybody
to have lived in each and every state
to be lost in this futuristic fantasy
Where to visit first? New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, good God
I love you America

Proud to be arrogant, ignorant, vain and excessively wealthy
Yep, home of the brave, land of the free
If you mean, 
Home of for-profit health and private prisons,
professional sport and the entertainment industry 
Free to be in debt or homeless
free to prostitute or become a porn star
free to join a gang and become criminal
Conspiracy theorists juggle truth while patriots join the military,
stragglers are caught in the drug scourge 
The sink or swim reality resembles a Darwinist ant farm
Just pray to Wall St and avoid the CIA/FBI
In DC they manipulate a new world order,
toppling governments, imposing sanctions and wagging their finger
all the while, 
their own very ideals are undermined at every turn
From Abu Ghraib to the slave trade, 
Who can you trust?
Donald Trump? Microsoft or Google? MGM Grand? Hollywood? Wells Fargo?

Dream destination of almost every person with huge money making and fame seeking aim is America!!!! It's got immense beauty scenery and it's history - Mashallah! but pros and cons are always together....,you've showcased the dream America amazingly.....tis a good read!
