Treachery Zone

Treachery Zone

A Poem by Tomislav Petricevic

Dropping the valiant arms

And lowering the defenses

Signaled the entrance

To the blissful zone.

The army sought shelter,

The zone provided,

While benefits clashed,

In union gathered.

Pretensions of settlement

Arose from dust,

Permanent hope

Etched in every soldier.

But thoughts put in action

Left them in disgrace,

When shelter revealed

Teeth hidden cunningly.

The other army conquered,

Footsteps printing blood,

Valiance miserably crushed

By treason is disguise.

Author's Note

I'll just say three things:
1. It's not about war/army.
2. Thank you for reading.
3. Since rarely anyone bothers to crack the meaning behind my poems (and it's really easy) I might give an honorable mention or something to the person who guesses it correctly, in one of my next poems/writings.

I think it is about the physical intimacy between two people.
"benefits clashed" as in, the desire to be loved..in both of them..
But because there is no emotional attachment, in the end, it is just cruel and meaningless.
I might be totally wrong!

Great poem, anyway. :)

it feels as if you put your trust in somebody or something...putting down your guard, dropping defences only to be betrayed by something/someone who you thought would never hurt you...sorry if i'm completely off

i loved the poem though

I'm not quite sure. I'll give it a try though. (Sorry if this is totally not right)
In the beginning, I sensed some sort of release, like you were giving in. To what, I am uncertain, possibly an actual surrender, possibly a soul giving in to trust. I'm feeling that you're building your hopes up, fixing what is broken...and then the betrayal. Revelation of true colors you had been blind to before.
Idk. I could be totally wrong. I can't really pinpoint exactly what this is about, but I gave it my best shot. Anyway, I loved this, though it was a bit hard to decipher.

Alright, I'm excited to see if I was any close!
Honestly, it reminds me of a past relationship of mine. It's a bit dark and quite clever. Well done.
