Rousseau: Sleeping Gypsy

The dark bright night
light by on the moons soft light
the lion tip toes in plain sight
afraid to give the human fright

The woman sleeps curled up and tight
staff clenched in her hand thinking she’s alright
a stick breaks and she wakes up to fight
Little does she know the lion doesn’t bite

The lion froze up like he had stage fright
The woman looked at the lions eyes and saw the invite
They both knew right then and there what was right
The woman took out her guitar and they sang songs all through the night
