Fragile Fragrance

Fragile Fragrance

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Perfume is described in a musical metaphor as having three sets of notes, making the harmonious scent accord.

"

Fragile Fragrance

Spinning blindly through

This chaotic commuter throng

An anonymous fragile fragrance

Diverted my focal purpose

Abruptly prompting and unlocking

Lost treasure chests of dreams

But conversely cold-heartedly dislodged

Some denial memories re-emerged

Subtly twisting aromatic

In waves of sensual flumes

Encapsulated perfumed recollections

Exploded an epoch in my being

When critical adolescent milestones

Moulded persona from soft clay

All through a vibrant individualistic

Experimental wanton stage

Now with olfactory perception

In a crescendo of scented notes

Recognition of lost love’s aroma

In three tones of harmonious accord

Burst open feathered engrams

Making me stop and glance around

And at the very last perception

Saw your face on the outward bound

For some reason, my feed is not sending me your poems now Phill. Others also, so have to search. This is a superbly set train scenario, in nostalgic b&w celluloid as your image illustrates- perfect. And you the consummate Wordsmith my friend- jewels of words dance through this poem, bringing it to panoramic color enhanced by seductive fragrance. Love the time transitions and alliteration, metaphor. Last line slays! Great.

You use language so wonderfully well.. create scenes, create essence and more. Each stanza stands as a monolith, to be remembered far more than word after word at this moment.

This is a lesson in how to create meter intent to enhance rather than teach, yet does both via velvet glove!.

Olfactory perception turned to highest degree of perfumed recollection... This unlocked a chest of treasure within the twisting aroma of intricate rhymes molded through persona of experimental anonymity... Sensually a ruse and flumes will confuse... I take my last train bound home...

Good job of tying together the idea of scent tones & musical ones. My memories are very much tied to various associated scents & you've painted the way this can happen. Some have critiqued my writing as having an abundance of modifiers, but this line might take the cake: "All through a vibrant individualistic experimental wanton stage" (but I enjoy a pile-up of unexpected descriptions bumping off each spontaneously-selected word!) Nice work, my friend! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The language you use really draws the eye in. This is an incredible sensory poem. I can almost see it twisting and winding in the air. Beautifully done!!

our sense of smell trigger long lost memories, sending us on trails of past escapades.
"Abruptly prompting and unlocking lost treasure chests of dreams" as "perfumed recollections"
of "lost love's aroma".....lovely write to ponder on a warm Sunday afternoon! Nizhoni-beautiful!
