People tend to agree with one-sided statements. They will also agree with two contradictory statements when they are framed for agreement. No matter who we are relationships are critical to our existence as human beings.

Your posting gives much to peruse & think about! I am confrontation-avoidant after a childhood of being beaten for expressing anything not OK. It seems your definition is a little more mild than mine . . . you say: "yes" when uncertain . . . but I say: "yes" even tho real answer is "no." Regardless, I love that such a short poem provokes so much to consider. I wonder if the second-to-last word is meant to be "foregoing"?

I think the majority of us want to avoid conflict within relationships in general which tends to the 'yea -saying' instead of being a 'nay-sayer' ...

Interesting, honestly had heard the word before, but wasn't familiar with it's definition. And I agree, relationships are critical to our existence, so it would be beneficial to be acquiescent for the sake of a relationship in some circumstances. Anyways, thanks for sharing, increased my vocabulary and got me thinking!
