Running

Running

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Being alone can hurt sometimes ....

"

Running

Running ….

Running as alacritously as I can

Running from a gelid aphotic past

Running from and for my beingness

Escaping ….

Escaping revelatory raw transgressions

Escaping abasement of mortal denials

Escaping this swamp of degradations

Breaking ….

Breaking mystic trammel ideologies

Breaking tethers binding self volition

Breaking loose from lonesome singularity

Grasping ….

Grasping possibilities yet undiscovered

Grasping memory tracings of prosperity

Grasping immunity from this outcast life

Freedom …

Freedom is an elusive covetous prize

Freedom emancipates both mind and spirit

Freedom is everything to the captive soul

As ….

As no deterrents shall obturate my efforts

As sheer resoluteness will guide my path

As I impose myself to keep on running

Kudos to a Master Wordsmith! What an expertly worded poetic gem this is! Both the skillful words and skillful runner traversing the roads of our gray matter- charging them with electricity...love the form and flow of the lines and verses with repetition of each keyword at the start of each line. I stand and cheer you on your brave marathon to absolute freedom! Brilliant.

Mmmm found this one on my news feed...
Not finding that one can hurt... to get over our hurts we run..we keep running...and then we forget to live... Phill....what I think is... we need to capture every min. Of our life and turn them into beautiful pearls of memory and add it to our life... it will shine for us when our days are dark...and make us smile when tears fill our path.... I think it's required so that we don't trip and fall...
Life is I guess for living...and not for running from the things we love...
Maybe we do get hurt...but...then who said life would be full of roses isn't it...
Got me thinking of so many things....
And maybe got me running for Google too... :)
Sending you warm hugs...and a pair of running shoes... :p

What a mad rush of words.. and bewilderment on my part! Each stanza has a life or aim of its own, it seems, hence its lead word. I fully appreciate the language but wonder if.. it dilutes the flow sometimes.. one has to stop and think this or that word's meaning. But, there again.. if you have a recipe don't mess with the ingredients.

Thank you as ever and always for making me think.

This is quite the example of the parallel between acutally running and living. And Lordy! You are one of those poets that has me running for the dictionary! I used to think I was pretty dang smart...till i joined the Cafe. Keep producing quality work...and educatin' us plebeians.

Your poem shows this "running" & "grasping" with a sense of the dynamic pounding you seem to be doing with your repitition. I love your interesting use of sophisticated words but this also puts your message into the realm of the cerebral, more than writing that touches the heart of the matter. Have fun with your word play!
