A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee

Disregarded

Looking right past me

Your heart has emptied my love

Where did it go wrong?

Ignoring a person is such a powerful, psychological tool. When you don't look at another person or talk about them, it's like you are denying their existence. Your poem touches on the idea that ignoring a partner's needs will inevitably break apart the relationship.

Where did it go wrong? Someone forgot to be grateful. Few words...big reminder!

I believe that being disregarded is worse than being disrespected. Many people feel disregarded & your message gives words to this often-hidden curse. Good job of showing instead of telling.

People can be very cold and cruel at times. Your poem so well-describes how wounded the other person can feel by being ignored...seeking answers where there are none. Beautiful, sad, Senryu. Perfect meter!

when our significant other looks at us with cold, non-engaging eyes...
yes, we start pondering why...
and wonder how much longer our heart will beat.

You have managed to fit a lifetime of questions into so few words, that it is difficult to comprehend how it can be so...yet it is.
Superb piece.
