Mushroom Hopping

Mushroom Hopping

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

An Elf's life ...........?

"

Mushroom Hopping

Hazel Nutt was a bronze skinned forest elf

With sinuous raven dark tasselled locks

Her pulsing veins flowed high adventure

Woodland skilled dextrous and sly as a fox

There was nothing she liked doing better

Showing off to the tongue panting lads

Scantly scrambling across liana entangles

Then mushroom hopping her favourite fad

Rowan T Rees was her greatest admirer

Would blush bright red when ‘Haz’ said hello

Under polished hat of cupule he’s wishing

I’d love to get her to share the same pillow’

Escapade was the elves order of business

No ends to their afforest exploring pleasures

Every season a glorious inventive journey

Where elf life's crammed full of mysterious treasures

I see sequels in the future for this delightful tale! So creative and vivid. Great characters and names. I know there is much more where this came from. An adult fairytale/fantasy mayhaps??? Hint! Excellent work dear Phill!

I love this Phil, you paint a great picture of the freedom of an elf's life and I love the names Hazel Nutt and Rowan Trees - enchanting, you could write a book with these characters... I would read it :)

You definitely have the makings of something great here Phil and with your imagination this could go.. read more
I enjoyed the surrealism in this...and the fantasy. There is so much romance too. Well written, Phil. Lydi**

This recalled the glorious painting 'The Fairyfeller's Master-stroke' by Richard Dadd to me Phill, which says to me that you hit that rich vein of 'the mystic' with this fine piece.

Idyllic, surreal and free spirited, our mystical, diminutive brethren, sure know how to live life to maximum effect!

Cosmically creative with more than a tinge of poetic license thrown in for good measure!
