The Infinity Box

The Infinity Box

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

What will the New Year bring?????????????????

"

The Infinity Box

Men from clay spawned by creation’s first breath

Choose to voyage blindly on a path towards oblivion

Leisurely abusing their complimentary milieu gifts

Assuming an eternal right of unfettered passage

Intimately they guard their clandestine futile lives

Boxing in the denigration of broken selfish dreams

Painting their façade in jovial camouflage emojis

To masquerade true nature of deceitful intentions

New Year optimistic glad seeds scattered yet again

Seem continually to fall upon earth’s stony ground

Laid barren by demanding egocentric asset strippers

Unwilling to replenish or amend destructive habits

Once in a dream some kernels of humanity hide

Within the safety of anonymous virtuous potting pots

Giving hope to that side of humanity left untainted

To plant a clean garden by the rim of the infinity box

And yes we need to hope and pray for that guardian to be positioned because whoa to those who have eyes and cannot see and ears and cannot hear🌹

How well put, creation, life struggle, selfishness, hope of a new beginning only to have that seed of hope fall on stony ground. Story of mankind. I enjoyed this poem very much.

'.. Boxing in the denigration of broken selfish dreams ~ 'Painting their façade in jovial camouflage emojis. '

Superb wording, tragically chained to negativity, almost a surrender to what our world has become. Whether or not that's open eye-open mind observations.. pain, i don't know. Sometimes your poetry gives hope, or.. gentle acknorledgement to life and its varying emotions. In this, however, you've upturned OUR planet, presented it as a gigantic polluted core. (Just read your words for a fourth time

Perhaps you're wise, far.sighted or - lost in the past.i don't know.. but dear Lord, i hope that some time someone will write about what beauty and inspiration still exists upon and within our sad planet. Your visual is supposed to show a distored Infinity box. However, i see it as beautiful but trembling living slice of onyx portraying the beauiy that still remains. Perhaps.

Read six times... ' Laid barren by demanding egocentric asset strippers ~ Unwilling to replenish or amend destructive habits ' ... how true, how tragic.

Thank you Kristine - first review of 2018! Bless :-)
A dark perspective but one I can relate to. So eloquent and classy but also raw and brutal. The romantics and idealists who review poetry on here might not like it, but the realists will love it. It's an unapologetic, well-founded indictment of humanity. Yet, you convey hope in the end... because as you know, that's what humans do. We hope for a new dawn. Nice work.

I'm hopeful once again for what the new year will bring.. some things are up to us to change.. other things are not in our power to control... Those who appreciate life and liberty will work toward growing a peaceful and loving future.... Let's hope and pray brave men and women will march forward past the limitations, to higher ground..

Very Thought Provoking !

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! .... You are welcome !
Nothing lasts forever does it? It's an age old message in everything from Shelley's Ozymandias to the melting clocks of Salvador Dali. But maybe we can cast a pebble in the pond of the universe to make a ripple...someone, somewhere else might see. It's that sort of hope that springs eternal...that sort of seed that plants a garden. I greatly enjoyed this one. Happy New Year my friend.
