Unfairness of Realities

Unfairness of Realities

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

For the moment ….

"

Unfairness of Realities

The unfairness of realities

Brings home painful truths

That some things wished

Are not meant to be enjoyed

Clean sheets undiscovered

Turn out to be just myths

These present made up beds

A predestination of our lives

Past fantasies soon erased

The future’s vapour shrouded

We have but here and now

To implement sweet visions

We must value the instants

Dotted during our existence

No more or less in all things

This charter of celestial time

Escape into a short daydream

Exercising tiny imaginations

To free our minds of troubles

And live for just this moment

I agree with that most of the times but sometimes it feels like we're fooling ourselves or maybe just trying to lessen the burdens of the now to look on to a better tomorrow.
As usual, nice word choices. I enjoyed the read. Made me think. :)

What wonderful sentiments. Living in the here and now, yes, but what else is there? Some folks live in the past and miss out on the possibility of the here and now. Some folks plan and plan so much for tomorrow that they miss out on the opportunity of today. This brought visions of Robert Herrick's "Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May..." well done poet!
