Deep inside a Candle’s FlameA Poem by Phill Oz O'feeSometimes inspiration presents itself ...Deep inside a Candle’s Flame With cotton curtains drawn Across the lattice windows Reposed into a cherished chair I feel a comfortable hugging From the calm idyllic silence Of this placid private lodge
Turning off artificial lighting I use a single scented candle In clay holder proud and high And set to fire its waxen wick To bring life to this solo spire And cast shining into tired eyes
An ambiance matures steadily As the flame begins the grow Thoughts disperse the psyche Absorbed hypnotic by fiery core And discover myself transfixed Upon its tall honey golden glow
In the deepest central radiance An apparition randomly appears An exquisite translucent image Holds scrolls of her silvery words And I am spiritually transported To an imaginative creative world
Awe spun and novel approbation Mixes a new found admiration Seizes soul to mystical inspiration At poetess’s rousing innovation As her flickering haunting flame Takes me into the tallow’s heart Copyright @ Phillozofee 2018 © 2018 Phill Oz O'feeFeatured Review
