A Thorny Crown

A Thorny Crown

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Another rant I'm afraid...

"

A Thorny Crown

Gaze upon the righteous blood

Dripping from a thorny crown

Coagulating clay hypocrisies’

Revealing wickedness abounds

The wealthy snap up properties

Investments for future yields

Where homeless camp outside

In cardboard container fields

Swollen toddler tummies rest

Silent on wooden plank beds

Malnourishment their custodian

Yet their entreaty is left unsaid

Those investing in conflict gain

From trafficking and wicked wars

Toss another corpse on the fire

To propagate financial rewards

Some build segregation walls

To perpetuate isolation distant

Yet to pull down evil obstacles

Would unite for common interest

Misguidedly worshipping deities

Unrelated to humanitarian rights

Stitching scales across our eyes

Causing blindness to dire plights

But current and past misdeeds

Are punished at the chosen time

On an auspicious Judgement day

Payment is taken for evil crimes

I sincerely hope there will be judgement. There is so much greed in our world, the rich have it all and the poor have nothing. When people die of starvation, it tells you how wrong things are. Powerful words Phill.

Your words ring so true - thank you for your kind review...:-)
“Then, whosoever commits even an atom's worth of good, shall see it, and whosoever commits an atom´s worth of evil, too shall see it.”

Very enjoyable, must say. 'Tis a shame that ambition so often blinds one to.humanity, and turns oh-so sour.

Your very welcome Phill. :)
I love this, sometimes it makes me sad that so many souls will die, but then I remember the evil people do, I want everyone to realize there wrong and it gives me comfort that they will. I like that you started this poem with Jesus's crown of thorns, that he was so perfect and then you list all the imperfections, and that his plan is flawless.
