Tree Enclosure

Tree Enclosure

A Poem by B

Image result for most beautiful tree in the world

Despite their differences
Holding arms of twig through night

Breathing in toxins
Giving out life

Through Darker corners
All in all they lay the same

Extinguished life slowly decays
Rebirth of an ecosystem in dirt

Bright orange through a fall
Darkest browns through the cold

Coated in glitter on wedding nights
Shimmering shadows holding stories

The picnic you had
A first kiss in twilight

Unlike those who sight
Oak bark settles no debt

Never has been any due

Admiring the shades of red within
Embracing green flutter to common ground

They say humans are superior
Only mother nature is truly wise

Eternal resemblance of beauty
Throughout history and time

Back to life

I like the dichotomy of images present in each couplet. I'm reminded of The Waste Land's first line.

Just wish those superior humans would give mother nature a break. Especially when they rip out vast forests.
