Death in the wake

Death in the wake

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton

Now at the end,

Stripped humanity,

existence ripped a part.

Stand watch,

world up in flames,

shards, memories flooding,
only time.

Greeting,  gates of hell,
eyes closed, farewell,
mercy vacant.

Bleed,
become everything,
got this far.

Rid of flesh,
naked skin and bone,
orchestra, a different tone.

Jewel, dragged dirt,

Bile beauty,

tainted.

Change - fear,

become man,

the monster,

The undertow.

In the professional space, I am almost a diety... I say that with the greatest of humility. In my personal life I am frail and a primitive man... Self-actualization is not all it's cracked up to be. .. more..
